What are credits and how are they calculated?

Last updated: September 15, 2025

Credits are a unit of measurement used to track and manage your usage of Caesr. Think of them as the currency of our platform. Every time the agent performs a specific task, it consumes a certain number of credits. This system ensures transparency and helps you understand how your usage aligns with your chosen subscription plan.

How Credits are Calculated

For the Caesr agent, the calculation is straightforward: one credit equals one generated message.

Here's how it breaks down:

  • Message Generation: Whenever you instruct the agent to do something, it generates messages in response to a prompt or to complete a task. This applies whether the agent is providing a simple answer or executing a longer automation.

  • Simple Prompt: If you ask the agent, "What's the weather like today?", the agent will generate a single response. This action will consume 1 credit.

  • Complex Task: If you ask the agent to "Find the five best articles on [topic] and summarize each one," the agent may need to visit multiple web pages and generate multiple messages to provide the full response. For example, it might generate one message for each summarized article and two messages for visiting each web page. In this case, each generated summary would cost 3 credits, so the total would be 15 credits.

This simple calculation model ensures that you only pay for the output you receive. It is a way to manage your usage without hidden fees or complex formulas.
