I installed the app, but my agent does not click anywhere, what can I do?
Last updated: September 27, 2025
If you've installed the Caesr desktop app but your agent isn't responding to click commands or interacting with your screen, this is typically a permissions issue. Here's how to resolve it:
First, ensure the desktop app is running
Before troubleshooting permissions, make sure the Caesr desktop app is actually running on your system:
Windows: Check your system tray (bottom-right corner) for the Caesr icon
macOS: Look for the Caesr icon in your menu bar (top-right corner) or check Activity Monitor
Linux: Check your system tray
If the app isn't running, launch it from your Applications folder or Start menu.
macOS Permission Requirements
On macOS, Caesr AI requires specific system permissions to interact with your screen and applications. You need to grant the following permissions:
Required Permissions:
Screen Capture - Allows the agent to see your screen
Accessibility - Enables clicking, typing, and other interactions
How to Grant Permissions:
Open System Preferences/Settings
Click the Apple menu → System Preferences (macOS 12 and earlier) or System Settings (macOS 13+)
Navigate to Privacy & Security
Look for "Privacy & Security"
Grant Screen Recording Permission
Go to "Screen & System Audio Recording"
Click the lock icon to make changes (enter your password)
Check the box next to "Caesr" or your app name
If prompted, restart the application
Grant Accessibility Permission
Go to "Accessibility" in the left sidebar
Click the lock icon to make changes
Check the box next to "Caesr"
You may need to restart the app
Additional Troubleshooting Steps
If permissions are already granted:
Restart the desktop app - Quit and relaunch Caesr
Restart your computer - Sometimes a full restart is needed for permissions to take effect
Check for app updates - Ensure you're running the latest version
Try a simple test - Ask your agent to perform a basic action like taking a screenshot
Still having issues?
Check system compatibility - Ensure your OS version is supported
Disable conflicting software - Some security software may interfere with automation tools
Run as administrator (Windows) - Try running the app with elevated privileges
Important Notes
Permission prompts: When you first grant permissions, you may see system prompts asking for confirmation
Security software: Some antivirus or security applications may block automation tools
Corporate environments: If you're on a work computer, your IT department may have restrictions in place
