Can I make the agent run faster?

Last updated: September 18, 2025

If you're finding that Caesr responds slowly to your commands, there are several factors that influence performance and some solutions you can try.

Why Caesr Can Be Slow

Caesr's speed is primarily limited by the AI models running in the background, which powers the agent's decision-making and visual understanding. These large language models require significant computational resources and processing time to:

  • Analyze screenshots of your screen

  • Understand the current context

  • Plan the next actions

  • Generate precise commands

What We're Doing About It

We're actively working on improving response times by:

  • Optimizing our model usage and API calls

  • Implementing caching for common operations

  • Exploring faster model alternatives

  • Improving our processing pipeline

What You Can Do Now

1. Check Your Network Connection

Since Caesr communicates with cloud-based AI models, a stable, fast internet connection is crucial:

  • Test your internet speed - Ensure you have adequate bandwidth

  • Close bandwidth-heavy applications (streaming, downloads, etc.)

  • Try a different network if you suspect connectivity issues

2. Optimize Your Setup

  • Close unnecessary applications to reduce system load

  • Ensure Caesr has adequate system resources (RAM, CPU)

  • Keep your desktop organized - simpler screens are faster to process

  • Lower your screen resolution - Less pixels mean less things to compute

For Technical Users: Self-Hosted Solution

If you're technically inclined and need faster performance, you can use our open-source vision agent repository on GitHub:

Vision Agent Github

What This Allows:

  • Configure your own AI models - Use local models or different cloud providers

  • Customize processing settings - Adjust quality vs. speed trade-offs

  • Reduce latency - Eliminate network round-trips with local models

  • Greater control - Fine-tune performance for your specific use case

Requirements:

  • Programming experience (Python recommended)

  • Understanding of AI model deployment

  • Adequate local hardware (for local models) or API access to alternative providers

  • Time to set up and configure the system

Performance Expectations

Current typical response times:

  • Simple actions: 1-8 seconds

  • Complex multi-step tasks: 10-30 seconds

  • First action after startup: May take longer

Factors that affect speed:

  • Screen complexity (more elements = slower processing)

  • Task complexity (planning multiple steps takes time)

  • Network latency to our servers

  • Current server load

Getting Help

If Caesr is unusually slow or unresponsive:

  1. Check our status page for any known issues

  2. Test your internet connection speed and stability

  3. Try restarting the Caesr application

  4. Contact support (support@askui.com) with details about your setup and typical response times

The Future

We're committed to improving Caesr's performance while maintaining its intelligence and accuracy. Expect regular updates that will gradually reduce response times as we optimize our infrastructure and explore new AI technologies.

In the meantime, ensuring a good network connection and considering the self-hosted option (for technical users) are your best options for improving performance.
